Hallwick's fourth AD project in Consett, County Durham is now being successfully commissioned by MT-Energie and is producing power using maize, wholecrop and grass, with the site expected to reach full capacity next month. Electricity is being sent to the neighbouring chemical factory and project partner, Thomas Swan & Co., via private wire with overspill being exported to the national grid using the project's export connection. The factory will also use the project's excess heat and it is expected that heat can be sent to the factory in the coming weeks. Final landscaping and planting of the site is due to take place shortly.
Hallwick Energy have successfully gained accreditation for the Feed in Tariff, as well as preliminary accreditation for the RHI, which is currently being converted to full accreditation.
An official opening for the AD plant is currently being arranged, details to follow.
